Up & Country is bringing the next wave of Kiwi Country music to Goldie’s Bar & Yard.
Settle in for a Sunday afternoon of live country music featuring four up-and-coming local artists, with Blake Stainton, Jenni Smith, Van Brookes and Rosie Teese all taking the stage.
From modern country and Americana to pop-country, folk and Southern rock influences, each artist brings their own sound and story to the lineup.

Blake Stainton
At just 20 years old, Auckland-based singer-songwriter Blake Stainton is one to watch, blending modern country, Americana and folk with honest songwriting inspired by life, relationships and the people around him. If Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers or Waylon Wyatt are on your playlist, Blake will be right up your alley. Already performing across Aotearoa and internationally, he’s quickly building a name for himself on stage and beyond. Born in South Africa and raised in New Zealand, Blake is also a self-confessed coconut water enthusiast.
Jenni Smith
Jenni Smith pairs pop-country with honest, diary-like songwriting and plenty of girl-next-door charm. Her debut album The Girl Next Door reached #10 on the Official NZ Album Charts, while MIRROR hit #1 on the Official NZ Hot Singles Chart. Whether it’s a song to cry to, sing along with or dance around the kitchen to, Jenni has you covered. And when music isn’t on the menu, breakfast probably is as it’s her favourite meal.
Van Brookes
Van Brookes brings together country, rock and folk with a sound shaped by everything from Waylon Jennings and Dolly Parton to Southern rock. Raised in Mount Maunganui, the 24-year-old originally pursued a career in motorsport media before realising he felt more at home behind a guitar than a camera. After taking his music to Australia and the UK, he’s back home and ready to bring it to the stage. Offstage, you’ll find Van restoring classic cars and motorcycles or getting stuck into anything outdoors.
Rosie Teese
Rosie Teese is an exciting voice in Aotearoa’s country-pop scene, bringing catchy melodies, honest songwriting and plenty of personality to the stage. Her music has earned support across NZ radio, including iHeartCountry NZ, and she’s performed alongside artists including Georgia Lines, Jake Whittaker, Tami Neilson and Brad Cox. Originally from Christchurch, Rosie has called both Christchurch and Auckland home, and away from music, she’s a lifelong ice cream lover who’ll happily take any flavour, any time of day.
