Spring's here and September is shaping up nicely. There's a brand-new home for game day, a Father's Day draw that could cover your whole bill, pasta and Negronis, live country music every weekend and flash tattoos to round out the month. Here's what's on across our venues this September.
Now open | Sylvia Park, Auckland
Sports & Rec has officially opened in Sylvia Park, and it's your new go-to for watching the game with a hefty side of socialising. With screens in every direction and a commentary booth or podcast studio, there's always a view of the action, while arcade games like foosball, pinball and more keep things entertaining between plays. The game day inspired menu is packed with crowd pleasers from garlic pretzel baguettes to ranch fries, and rotisserie chicken and all the trimmings. Whether you're watching the game, challenging the kids to foosball or catching up with friends for a meal, Sports & Rec is the place to be.
Sunday, 6 September | Participating Star Group venues
Make Father's Day even better this year with the chance to have your whole bill covered. Book on 6th September at any participating Star Group venue and your table will automatically go in the draw to win your entire bill back, with one winning table at each venue. We've got a setting to suit any mood and location - whether it's waterfront views you're after, a classic steak or family Italian night.
First and last Tuesday of every month | $65 per person | Goode Brothers
Roll your sleeves up and learn the art of fresh pasta making at Goode Brothers Pasta School. You'll learn how to make the good stuff yourself alongside tasty sauces to level up your dishes. Halfway through, swap the rolling pin for a cocktail jigger with the Negroni Masterclass before sitting down with your classmates to enjoy your hard work. This class is perfect for date nights, birthdays and team outings.
Thursday - Saturday | Goldie's Bar & Yard, Takapuna
Takapuna, turn it up. Goldie's brings live music every Thursday to Saturday with a rotating line of DJs, duos and bands taking over the modern honky-tonk. You can catch acts like Rosie Teese and other rising country music stars, and dance to everything from honky tonk floor moves to singalongs and some Southern soul.
Thursday: DJ 6:30pm-9:30pm, Live Duo 9:30pm-12am
Friday & Saturday: Duo 6pm-8pm | Band 8pm-11pm | DJ 11pm-1am
Every Saturday from 2pm | $49 set menu | Master Kong
Round up the crew! Weekends are better around a table with Kong Club at Master Kong. Every Saturday at 2pm, you can order a $49 set menu packed with Master Kong favourites and plenty to share. Expect crispy sriracha chicken, cheeseburger wontons served with smoky burger sauce, and umami packed black garlic fried rice topped with fresh herbs and crispy shallots. Book your table and let the fun begin.
Sunday, 27 September, 2pm - 6pm | Rosie's Red-Hot Cantina
Sunday plans, but make them permanent. On the last Sunday of every month, head to Rosie's Red Hot Cantina from 2pm to 6pm and choose from a selection of flash tattoos for just $40. Check Rosie's social stories prior to see the available designs and artists who will be doing the tattoos, then turn up and add your name to the list. Tattoos are first come first served and strictly 18+ - but kids can get involved with temporary tattoos while they wait.
Ready to make this month one to remember? Book a table, grab your crew, and we'll see you at a Star Group venue near you.
